more of Him

Welcome to More of Him.

You can encourage others or you may be encouraged by sharing part of your spiritual journey. If you post today under one of the following themes, please leave a link to your post on the Mr. Linky below.

Share a specific piece of scripture that has spoken to your this last week. Share what you feel God is telling you through that passage and how you plan to apply it to your life.

or

Share how God is working in your life right now. Is He telling you something or helping you through something? Do you hear His small, quiet voice? Or is He hitting you over the head with a two by four? Are you on a spiritual high? Or low? Share as you are led.

Scripture Speaks to me

Jesus responded, "The real significance of that Scripture is not that Moses gave you bread from heaven but that my Father is right now offering you bread from heaven, the real bread. The Bread of God came down out of heaven and is giving life to the world." John 6:32-33 the Message

I have to be honest here. I haven't felt very close to God for the past few weeks. I think I'm just in a dry spot right now. I want to feel that closeness again, and I have faith that I will. But it feels lonely where I am right now. I've been wanting to write a "Him in my life" post, but don't really feel Him at the moment. And I want to feel that closeness again.

As I read the footnote about this passage in my Bible, I realized that bread is the sustenance in our lives. In the same way, Jesus needs to be the sustenance to my spiritual life. I need to remember that He is the answer to my inner hunger. He is what I need to feel fed and satisfied. I will remain at His feet, until we are walking hand in hand again. I just hope that is more sooner than later.

I can very much relate to how you're feeling right now. I have been feeling entire days when I just don't feel close to Jesus at all. But, I feel God working on me, and gently leading me to a place where I can find my solace and comfort in Him. Oh, I'm just so thankful that He gave us Jesus...we'd be so lost without him!

Thank you for hosting this each week. It has already blessed me so much reading what other's are learning.

You and me both.

We all love and long for the mountain top experiences and they are wonderful. But, it's the day to day valley walks that truly develop who we are and the character of Christ in us. Everything is by His design.

I, too, have been feeling a little "distanced." But, as usual, Penless Thoughts is right. When we feel the distance, most often our yearning for God is greater, and God is reaching out out for us.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I loved your post. I could relate to being in a dry spot. Penless Thoughts was right, "it's the day to day valley walks that truly develop who we are and the character of Christ in us." A bautiful post and a beautiful comment.

Great post-it really spoke to what I'm going through in my life right now. I've been feeding my spiritual hunger with food instead of Jesus. And that is why I never feel satisfied. I really need to listen to that small, quiet voice.

Great post!!! Thanks for sharing.
I've been working at just that...being closer to Jesus each day.

I missed posting again today.
Not feeling so well lately.
Went to dr today. I have an infection. I'm going to lay low and take it easy for a few days.

I can relate to your 'dry spot.' Was there the past few months. I can feel that 'stirring' again though. Will pray it comes your way too!

I think we can each relate to having times we feel more distant from God. Thankfully, he is always working and very near in our lives.

Friend we have all been there before. Fortunately, these spells never seem to last long.

Praying for you.
