imagine...

Imagine the air thick with smoke.

Imagine hearing about the fires getting closer to where you live.

Imagine being told you have to leave your home because of the chance of fires getting too close to your home.

Imagine trying to leave your neighborhood and your city, along with the rest of your neighborhood and your city.

Imagine camping out in a football stadium along with thousands of other people.

Imagine not knowing the fate of your home.

Imagine being a firefighter.

Imagine being a firefighter and trying to fight a fire that's engulfing an entire hillside.

Imagine being a firefighter and trying to save a house - someones home - an entire street of homes.

Imagine being a firefighter that has spent days on the fire lines with little food and little sleep.

Imagine living miles away from the nearest fire, but you can't breath because the air is so thick with smoke.

Imagine returning to your home only to find that it's gone - everything is gone.

Imagine how you would feel after returning to your home and finding it still standing.

Those affected by the fires in California still need our prayers. And while you're saying a prayer for them, say a prayer of thanksgiving that you have a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, and your personal possessions safely stored away.

Thanks for this.

BTW ... my sister and her hubby (and dog) are back in their home. They were spared. She said the air is still thick with smoke.

It reality and even many of us are very far removed from it our hearts should never be.

Can I add one more? Imagine being a firefighter and having to literally drag people from their homes because they don't want to leave.
We aren't that close, but we have smoke in our valley. People have been evacuated here. It is a crazy time...

I just saw on the news last night that those staying in the football stadium had to leave because there will be a game tomorrow.......

This has been on my mind a lot this week!

Amen Diana,
We need to really keep the state of California in our prayers.

Thanks you, Diana, for a heart-touching blog. We don't "imagine" often enough for many things.

"Funny" website!

I've been watching the news coverage and it is really heartbreaking and I am saddened by the thought that some of the fires were intentionally set.

I did stay in a Red Cross emergency shelter many years ago and that was something I would not like to experience again.

My thoughts and prayers are with all affected by the fires in California.

So glad you shared this. We are praying that those lost and without a home will turn to Jesus. I hope we will get to read/hear stories of how God worked in many hearts during this time.
