...
Happy Aloha Friday to you all.
My question for you is...
If you owned a store, what would you sell?
For me, it would be scrapbooking supplies. I love everything scrapbooking. I can spend hours in such a store. Needless to say, I have way too much "stuff" and don't spend enough time actually using the "stuff" along with my photos to put together books. But that doesn't stop me from checking out the scrapbooking aisles whenever I frequent a store with such aisles. And I do have good intentions of putting the rest of my photos (boxes full of them) in books.
My second choices would be books. I also would love to have my own coffee shop, but I didn't consider that a store.

I'd have a gourmet candy shop, where everything is made in the store, and there's a display window where people can watch it being made!
Either teacher supplies (we need a good local store for that) or crafts.
We own an online store and sell lots of things; clothes, books, shoes, accessories, antiques and collectibles. It's at http://www.donnydixonsattic.com
if you want to check it out.
Antiques, books and quilts.
Scrapbooking sounds like a really fun store but for me it would have to be books. I love to ready & even have a little library going.
Books or candy!
Cakes and cookies OR books... maybe find a unique way to combine that!! haha I think it would be a blast to have a little shop, and maybe one day....
Fabric... affordable, nice fabric :)
What a fun question! Also love the quote. You have some great ones. You excel in scrapbooking!
For me it would be bookstore or a flower shop.
I've always wanted to open a drive-thru convenience store. So, that way moms with babies could stop for diapers, milk, bread, etc.. without having to lug their kids out of the car.
I have always wanted to have a candy store........not a very lucrative idea which is why I haven't done it! LOL!
Have a great weekend!
Oh I love this question!
I would have a little Boutique. I would sell beautiful papers, scrapbooking supplies (the hard to find stuff) ephemera, vintage treasures, handmade items, jewelry . . . the list goes on. I have always dreamed of this, but cannot imagine being tied down to a retail store with retail hours and wanting to travel at the same time.
I am thinking of a website maybe, maybe Etsy, don't know. But I can dream. I do sell things on the side. I've been shopping this trip for all kinds of vintage and shabby chic, I am decorating a friend's master suite when I get home. Really looking forward to it. I love doing this kind of stuff.
GREAT POST DIANA!!!! This was fun!
I love rubber stamps, and would love to sell those :)
Oh, it would have to be a store that have several different distinct sections. We would have to have a scrapbooking area, a Christian book area, and an office supply section.
I would definitely own a yarn and book shop.
I would have a stationery store. I'd sell all kinds of writing paper, pens, fun desk items, and journals.
I would love to own a kids consignment store or a specialty toy store!
Wow, 24 comments now! Is that a record for you, DiDi? This is a great, thought provoking question. I guess we all have to answer it in what we, personally, would like to do. I'll go with selling models/hobbies. I can dream anyway!
What a great question!!!
When I was little, I wanted a store to sell cross stitching supplies...now, it would be my homemade bags/clothing and books!! Quite eclectic, eh?
Scrapbooking supplies. As I read the question, I knew my answer, then read yours LOL. I love to scrapbook. How fun would that be?
Outdoor equipment. So long as I could go out and test it all. :)
Great question!
I love these posts of yours that get us thinking!
For me it would be a stationary store (Moleskine notebooks, pens, cards, etc.) that also specializes in designing and producing wedding invites, baby announcements, etc. I just love all things to do with paper and pens like that :)
oh my, my store would have a bit of most everything I think. handcrafts, quilting fabric and accessories, cool pieces of odd furniture, fun toys that DON'T require batteries, rocking chairs in every color. There's be a permanent Christmas Corner with all things fun and Christmas-y...mostly homemade. Oh it'd be a cross between a quilt store and the store at Cracker Barrel restaurants, and a Christmas craft fair, oh and books! Lots and lots of books...I'd take books on trade, if you bring one in you get one for free..and I'd have an enormous selection of audiobooks...and I'd deliver!!... I'd also sell things for my friends on consignment....I have a friend who makes pendants, and another who makes aprons. Oh it would be just too much fun to run a store....
