it's friday and don is home

...
In the midst of all the commotion this week, I had a big dentist appointment. I spent 3 hours in the chair while the dentist took out part of one tooth, made a crown (a permanent one, not temporary), and then fitted the crown in my mouth. While the crown was being made (yep, in the office), I had a filling replaced in another tooth (same side of mouth).

So, in honor of my trip to the dentist, my Aloha Friday question this week is:

When was the last time you were at the dentist and what did you have done?

::~:: DON UPDATE ::~::

He's home! He was able to get on a plane. He had to jump through some hoops for the TSA, but they finally let him board. He flew to Minneapolis to get on another plane for his last leg home, but he didn't have to go through security again, so it was smooth going there.

We're both very happy that he's home. Thanks again for everybody's prayers and support.

Many of you expressed what a great company Don works for. I haven't always felt this way, but they really came through for Don over the past 2 days. I think it's apparent that it was a blessing us to have them work so hard to get Don home. It's a blessing that he works for such a company.

Blessing #19 in a month's worth of blessings.

I hate going to the dentist. It is a good thing that I have been blessed with wonderful teeth. I have only had to have two filings. I go every year for a cleaning and exam. That is all that is ever required. I cringe in sympathy for you.

So glad to hear that your husband got home safely. Yahoo! That was stressful. I bet he is tired.

Ugh. Dentist. *Shudder*

This was just a reminder of all of the dental work I have just waiting for me, including wisdom teeth extraction and about 15 little cavities! I'm freaking and delaying but I don't know for how long I can really keep this charade up :)

well, you'll laugh, but the last time I was in a dentist's chair was...11 hours ago. :-O
true.

I haven't been in about 20 years-ish and needed a "deep cleaning"....well, I'm no longer numb...and have found the exact points of entry for those 2 numbing injections......

chicken noodle soup was good.
ice cream is coming up......

and I get to look forward to them doing the other side next month!

YIPPEE happy dance for Don making it home!

Don't talk to me about dental work. I could write a book!!! When I was in the 3rd grade I cracked my 2 front upper teeth and I have had almost continual dental work from that "accident". The last was a SECOND permanent upper bridge that I spent months in the chair while it was being made and almost $5,000!!!! Just an example how one small "mistake" you can pay for, for the rest of your life.

WELCOME HOME, DON!

I am glad he is home!! I have kept up with the last few posts and was thinking of you...I worked so I didn't have much time to post :( I am so glad he was able to get on the plane...I wasn't sure that would happen with no ID these days, but that's great that it worked out!

We had all our ss cards, credit cards, checkbook, drivers license stolen at Walmart in Loveland a few years ago. I put an alert on our credit for all our ss numbers with the credit reporting agencies. That was huge because they called me every time someone tried to use our identity. Luckily it only happened a couple of times and then they must have given up. But I would definately suggest that. What a pain!!

I'm so happy for you and Don that he is home, now you can enjoy your weekend!!

i was at the dentist just a week ago. not my favorite place to visit, but both the dentist and hygenist are members of our church, so that is always fun.

i just had a cleaning and YAY for me no cavities...i made the hygenist be gentle though because my gums are sensitive.

I went to the dentist for my cleaning a month or so ago. I go every six months because I am so afraid of having teeth issues like my parents. I cried when I was 29 and had my first (and only so far) filling.

Good luck with your dental work.

I went about a year ago for an anual check up and was supposed to go back this month, but it was cancelled until next month.

Glad Don is back home safely.

My last visit to the dentist was just for a cleaning. Nothing dramatic. But, if you asked the same questions two years ago, wow, what a different answer I would have had.

A couple of years ago, I had a tooth removed. I hate going to the dentist, just getting a cleaning gives me panic attacks.

Oh good! I'm glad he made it home.

My last dental visit was just a routine cleaning and exam about 6 months ago.

OH girl - just catching up on all this mahem in your life. Wow - so glad things have worked out. Praying that identity theft doesn't become an issue for you all. Glad he is home and with you!

Dentist...HATE IT...maybe that is the fact I have so many crowns and my teeth are horrid. BUT I just want last week and had a clean bill of teeth!

This is the first time anyone has ever has me about my dental work!

Last week I had a permanent fillng replacing a temp. filling, in a tooth that had recently had a root canal.

In addition a front tooth that has been capped for many, many years, had a cavity. The cap was removed, filling done and a temporary cap.

I will say that denistry has definitely improved over my life time. Thank goodness!

Yes, I agree that Don's company really came through for him during his ordeal. I'm convinced once again in the power of prayer.

So glad to hear that Don made it home! What an adventure!

For your question, I was last at the dentist in July. I had a check up, then 3 fillings repaired. I hadn't been to a dentist for 6 years prior to that due to moving, marriage, life, etc. You know.

Also, I tagged you for a meme, if you're up for it. Stop by my blog when you have a chance.
