look up... what do you see?

first off....
click here to see where else i've been today.

***************
as most of you know, i live in the beautiful state of colorado. i moved here in 1990 from southern california and absolutely love it here. one of the many reasons is the clouds. yep, the clouds.

we have some of the most beautiful clouds here in colorado. and i am fascinated by them. i can't quite explain why i am so fascinated but if they're up there in the sky, i could sit and watch them all day long.

at some point, i wanted to try to capture their beauty on film. that is one reason i wanted my smaller camera; so i could have it with me at all times to take pictures of clouds whenever i feel the need to. the problem is, pictures don't capture the beauty nor the grand scale of them. but i still try.

it's an all year thing. unless it's snowing, the sky is usually full of clouds of varying types. my favorites are the ones that build up to massive size and are many times the start of a thunderstorm. you see, they start forming as the air sweeps over the mountains and hits the warmer air of the flatlands of denver and beyond. they can form quickly and give us a good storm or they can continue to build and the storms hit further east, colorado, kansas, and beyond.

my dilema now... what do i do with all the photos i have of my beloved clouds?

Yup, I agree with Amber, that last one is a real beauty. Why not frame 6-8 of your favorites and hang them on a wall in your house, clustered together? Or make a cloud album. :D

love the b*kind link - very cute

I was thinking about adding scripture to the cloud pictures as well, and then hanging them! You'll have to show us what you do!

I know what you mean about the clouds. NM, where I was raised, has the same blue skies and lovely clouds. You must do something with the pictures!!!!! And then share with us.

Hi I am glad I came by. I live in CO. also. My favorite part of Co. is a little cliche, the mountains of course, and it is super awesome when you just drove the whole boring flat state of Kansas and you see those Beautiful peaks. AHHHHHH, just thinking about that. God certainly has a great stroke. Anyway, I like the framing them and hanging them in your home somewhere, then when it is winter and the sky is preety much nothing but one big cloud you will still have your big beautiful clouds. Ciao. I am going to link you too, so I can keep coming back.

Amazing!!

Why not frame them, and then with the extra take them to the hospital or nursing homes for the rooms.

It is so neat for me to look into the clouds, and I am impressed that you have such neat photos!

I lived in CO for a few months and I think it has something to do with the expanse of the sky. I live in GA--rolling hills, lots of trees. I can only see about 1/4 of the sky at a time. But to be in CO and looking up at the sky--you can almost see that the world is a sphere! It's just amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Great photos. You would love hanging out with my family and all of their pictures. My oldest daughter made a huge photo board in her office that she can put 4x6 random pictures on. She has a picture of it on her blog. It's so cool and huge. My second daughter framed her favorite and added the scripture like Leigh Ann suggested. You may have seen my post about it. The options are limitless. Here's the link to Lindsey's photo board project.

I just LOVE the view you have there...the cloud pics are wonderful. I'm afraid we don't we views like that very often here in Texas. You've already received some great ideas. A few more might be to put them all into one file on your computer (assuming they are all digital) and set your screen saver to rotate through that folder which would bring each picture up, one after the other, so you have a constant display of your favorite subject on your computer. You also could check into www.istockphoto.com and see if you could sell them as stock photos for other people who don't have access to great clouds. Many photoshopers buy pics like that to replace dull backgrounds of photos they are working on with something more interesting. I think your clouds would be great for that purpose!! Good Luck!
