on to the next race

Well... the Olympics are over. It was a great two weeks, filled with fierce competition and some amazing stories. And one thing is for sure, China sure put on a fantastic show. I enjoyed it all and was sad to see the flame extinguished. But maybe now I can get to bed at a decent hour.

But my TV won't go quiet this week. The DNC (Democratic National Convention) is taking place, and here in my home town of Denver. Needless to say, there's a lot of excitement around town.

So I was wondering if I should try to make it downtown some day this week and be part of the craziness and chaos. I would take my camera along and try to capture some of the activity and the people. It wouldn't be easy. They have many roads blocked off and the downtown area will be packed. But it might be worth it. After all, it's part of history and it's happening right here where I live.

But then I think, nah... I'll just stay as far away from the mayhem as I can and watch it all from the comfort of my family room while wearing my pajamas.

I'm undecided... stay tuned...

Ooooohhhhh, if it is that close, then I would just need to walk down there just to see!!!

If only I were old enough to have gone and seen Harrison Ford when they were filming Witness ... sigh ;-)

Hmmm... I'm not sure if I would go or not! :) IF you do, take lots of pics! I'm sure it would be very interesting...

I think you should go. This opportunity doesn't come around every day. You might see some celebs.

Ah, the age-old question: "What price, art?" I wonder if there will be any volatile protests. I have been caught in crowds on two different occasions when violence broke out and I tend to avoid crowds to this day for that reason. Both of those incidents happened in the late 60's when pretty much *everything* was volatile. But I still have that apprehension.

Hilarious!... we've been saying that same thing--that is, that now that the Olympics are over we can get to bed at a better time. For some reason it doesn't seem to work that way 'cause you're accustomed to staying up late. And, I haven't gotten myself up for the other race. I catch the stories online tomorrow morning.

I was wondering if you and your camera would be heading downtown!

I love all the different comments you received.

If any one could do it, get in the midst of it and get some good pictures. . . it's you!

ummm, you SHOULD already know my answer huh? I mean a person who won't go to Walmart in December if her life depended on it does NOT belong there!!
