hee, hee... that tickles

It's Friday... Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Friday is the day to relax and look forward to the weekend. In the spirit of that attitude, I make it easy on myself on Friday and join other participants in asking a simple question in hopes that readers will answer it and I can get to know people better.

Well, I am definitely looking forward to the weekend. We're leaving for another vacation. The BIG vacation. The vacation we've researched, booked, and have looked forward to for months. Should I tell you where we're going? Should I make you guess? I'll make my decision by the end of the post. But don't scroll down right away. Read the post and watch the video first. And don't forget to answer the Aloha Friday question. Thank you so very much.

I've heard about this a couple of times now over the past week. It's a new type of pedicure where you submerge your feet into a tank of fish. These little fish nibble at your feet, eating off the dead skin. It seems that women (and men, I guess) are enjoying the sensation.

Looks like it's the newest rage. My question is:
Would you try this kind of pedicure?

If you can't view the video, you can see it by following this link.

My answer: yes, I think I would like to try this. If I ever find some where local to do it, you can bet I'll post about it.

Okay... the vacation... I'll tell you. We'll be spending the next week in Alaska. I'm not sure how much posting I'll be doing. I'm planning to spend most of my time with a camera stuck to my face. But don't be surprised if I get a post in here or there... maybe even pictures.

Not sure if I would try it. I have only had a pedicure once before my brother's wedding (not even my own). I honestly did not enjoy it and my feet hurt after. I think this sounds interesting, but not something I would like.

Have a wonderful time in Alaska :)

Oooh, I don't know. It looks like it would feel cool and ticklish but watching that video gave me the heebie jeebies at first. :) I think though when it came down to it that I'd definitely try it. Happy Aloha Friday! Spice World

I wouldn't try it because it looks as if everyone has their feet in the same water. One big tank with a lot of feet. No thank you.

Um, no thank you.

Oh that is just too weird. My husband was asking me this same thing the other day.

I am terribly ticklish. If the tank was clean, and didn't smell fishy, and since I love pedicures, I would most likely do it!!

I'll pass on the fish pedicure, thankyouverymuch!

Have a great vacation! My mom has been to Alaska twice and loved it! I know you'll take some great pics!

absolutely not.

nothing against the fish and it probably does work very well, it's the same as putting maggots in a wound to debried it, which is common med practice.

But (as the Dermatologist said), in order for the fish to survive, the water must have NO chlorine or other cleaning chemicals in it. It would be the same as swimming in a lake. I've seen too many people get too many nasty infections (and parasites) from said lakes when they had tiny unkown cuts on their feet. One poor 10 yr old almost lost his foot cuz he went swimming in a lake with a blister on his heel. And diabetics?? FORGET IT!!

Have a wonderful time in Alaska. Can I fit in your suitcase??

Nope - I wouldn't try it. I prefer a person over a fish - even if it might be more effective.

Enjoy every minute in Alaska. We're looking forward to the picturs you will be taking.

Diana, I do look forward to your photos. It'll be like going home for a visit myself. Get a few shots of things in town for me - the grocery store, that sort of thing -
I'm apologizing in advance for the weather. I know it never warmed up this summer. I hear Anchorage is breaking records for a cool summer. Every once in a while this happens. I remember a year like that about 10 years ago in Homer when it never really got warm. But you'll get to see hte fireweed in full bloom.
And I'm praying for some good weather for you while you're there. Godspeed, my friend.

I love pedicures, but I don't think I'll try it. I can imagine it tickling and driving me crazy!

Oh my gosh - Alaska!! How awesome is that? Have a great time and I'm sure we'll see lots of pictures.

Being a Pisces (the fish), I would love to try this. Pisces also rules the feet, so a fish pedicure sounds like a win-win situation for all parties involved. I wonder who came up with this idea?

Have fun in Alaska. Looking forward to your vacation photos.
