pi anyone?

Did you know that today was Pi Day? Pi = 3.14 blah blah blah. Today is 3-14, March 14th. I actually never heard of this designated day before but evidentally it's a big deal in our local schools. They have different Pi activities to participate in, the most fun being... eating pie.

So my question for this Aloha Friday is:

What is your favorite pie?

Mine, hands down, is Marie Calendars fresh stawberry pie with, of course, whipped cream. It was a sad day, a couple of years ago, when they closed down most of our Marie Calendars' restaurants. Now the only way for me to get a piece of this scrumptious pie is to travel half way across town. But I do it, because it's worth it. And on Mother's Day, I get a whole pie!

Yum - pie! I had no idea that Pi Day existed - I'll have to try to remember that (good luck, right?)

Actually, I don't consider pie a dessert if it has fruit in it - it must be of the chocolate variety for me to eat it as dessert. Otherwise, its just a side dish!! ;-)

Have a great weekend Diana!

It's a tough call between pecan and rhubarb - depends on my mood! When you mentioned Pi Day, I thought you meant Pie Day http://www.pieday.com/ which is about 20 minutes from my house!

Wow, pi day. Actually that's cool! If I'd known sooner we would of had Chicken pot pie for dinner and my favorite pies, warm peach pie with ice cream or fresh peach pie for dessert.

I am not a pie fan *gasp* but even that sounds scrumptious enough to try!

Hummmm....I think it would have to be lemon meringue. I love sweet and tart together.

Thanks for stopping by my AF.

Pi Day is new to me too.

How can you have a favorite, especially if Marie Callenders has your favorite pies. But I see other commenters couldn't narrow it to one either.

So here goes from Marie C. Fresh strawberry and fresh peach, banana, carmel, chocolate silk, any berries or fruit. But the first three are my very, very favorites.

A friend from Australia came to visit us once. Seeing so many apples inside our refrigerator, she said, "I could make some nice apple pie with these". That was actually the first time I tasted a really nie apple pie...since then when it comes pie id always tend to go for apple pie!
