down time

I love Christmas, but I think I love the week afterwards almost as much. For me and my family, it's down time. There's not much that needs to be done and after the hustle bustle of the last few weeks, it sure feels good to be able to sit down and relax a little.

We had snow on Christmas which made for a picture perfect "white" Christmas. We had snow again today [all day long]. That only encourages me to stay inside, pick up a book, watch a movie, play a computer game or two, change my blog layout [you like?], and visit with family.

As I previously wrote, I've had my sister and her family visiting us from California. It's been so nice having them here. We've gone out and done some things, but we've also just hung out around the house. Her kids are entertainment in themselves [a lot of tiny talk around here :)].

It looks like they'll be going home on Saturday. New Year's Day is Tuesday. After that, things will get back to normal. Until then, I'm going to continue to enjoy this time. I hope you, too, are having some down time and using it in a way that feels good for you.

I LOVE the new look Diana - so awesome!!!!

I enjoy the downtime too. My hubby only had off on Tuesday, so I've tried to keep it a somewhat normal week here, minus school.

We actually took the tree down yesterday since the little ones brought the needles down very quickly - and I re-arranged the room the tree was in. Now I feel like I need another project. I enjoy not having a busy schedule right now so that I can do some of those things.

I'm glad you had a wonderful Christmas and snow - actually, I'm jealous about the snow!!

The blog looks fantastic! You amaze me. Enjoy your time with family.

We are home from our Texas trip and have some time to just kick back as well. Alicia is gone for the weekend and Jen will be working leaving just the two of us.

Hey Diana!!! OK, when you get time, can you tell me how to get a new header for my blog? Did you do that yourself or did you buy it from someone? I know there are a ton of sites out there where I can purchase a new header or design...but I know nothing about it and I would like to learn to do it myself. Is it hard? I know, too many details, right?

I love it though!!! Very, very cute. Perhaps I need to leave blogger to be able to change it?

I am glad you are having a good holiday. I am too, though I am back at work today. I had a wonderful time with relatives and it was good to have some down time. I still am going to have some semi-down time all next week as I'm off part of the week and Brnadon will be at his dad's for the week (he left this morning :( That actually makes me very sad, but I will use the time to get some much needed cleaning and stuff done. Plus some me time with reading and all.

Sorry I've written a novel.

So glad that you are getting some down time. Enjoy.
We are having lots of down time too. We're just getting some R&R and hanging around the house quite a bit(playing lots of games with the kids).

I'm enjoying the "down time" also. None of that rushing around like the previous weeks. I'm ready for a little hibernation!

Good quote! I enjoyed reading your blog. Like other commenters, we have enjoyed the down time too.

I can imagine all the activity in your house. It will seem much quieter after Saturday. You will still have Dani there though.

Enjoy your last few hours with the Roseville gang!

What a ray of sunshine your family picture is! And can you believe all this snow? We went sledding yesterday and had a blast. Nothing like a white Christmas....

I totally agree with the down time! I always take my tree down (artificial) the day after Christmas and I love the feeling of it being clean and simple in my home.
