it all started in a classroom

...

My Aloha Friday question this week is...

How did you meet your husband/boyfriend?

I ask this question just because I like hearing how people meet. And if you're single, I apologize for the asking a question that you probably can't answer.

My answer to this question is pretty boring, but I'll answer none the less. Don and I were high school sweethearts. We didn't necessarily "meet" because high school students don't "meet." We were in the same algebra class our freshman year. I noticed him more than he noticed me.

We again had another class together our sophomore year. Actually, we had 2 classes together. One of them was P.E.; a class where we weren't confined to a desk and where we could get to know each other better in a more social way. We also realized we had mutual friends. By the end of our sophomore year, we were hanging out in the same group of friends. And by that summer, we had started dating. The rest, as they say, is history. We married when we were 21, which was over 28 years ago.

I'd love to hear your story.

We met at my high school in our football stadium. I was a sophomore, he didn't attend my high school , but he was best friends with a friend that I met while on the swim team.

My hubby and I met online. I was working on something for a college course and did not realize that I had a chat window open. Something caught my eye, I looked at his profile and messaged him. We talked online for quite some time and on the phone before we met in person with friends. We have been married for almost 8 years.

I met him when I was 12. We were next door neighbors. We got married when I was 16 and he was 18. We just couldn't wait any longer. Just celebrated our 23rd anniversary last December :)

What a fun topic Diana!!

T was in the grade above me and we had some mutual friends. I took the bold step of putting a balloon in his locker with a note that included my phone number. And he called!! We dated 5 years and next month we'll celebrate 13 years!!

Have a great weekend!! I got your message on fb - I just need to look at our schedule (mostly T's work schedule) a little more.

Jay and I met when we were 12...7th grade. We went to school together all through high school and graduated together. I honestly couldn't stand the guy. He was not nice in school. We "re-met" 5 years after graduation. I noticed he was not the same person, he asked me out, I thought why not, we were married 10 months later! In a couple weeks we will celebrate our 11th anniversary!

for some reason, high school sweethearts make me say, "awwww..." i think the idea is so charming.

i knew of my husband because he was my older brother's age. but didn't really 'meet' him until the summer i graduated. we met at a softball game in a tiny town (neither of our home town), and as much as i tried to fight it...the rest is history:0)

I worked with two of his sisters and met him at their mom and dads house. It was an instant attraction. We went out on a double date with one of his sisters about a week later. Three weeks later we moved in together. Four months later we were married. That was 21 1/2 years ago and we're still in love!!

Two mutual friends thought we'd like each other for several reasons and asked if they could give him my phone number. I said okay; he called and the rest is history!

Happy Mother's Day, Diana

I met John when I attended a Tupperware party at his mothers with a girlfriend of mine. John and his brother apparently argued over who got to date me. How romantic! I am glad that he won the argument.
