...and steve irwin

...

This week's Aloha Friday question is:

What 3 dead people would you like to invite to dinner?

I didn't even have to think about this. My answer is Princess Diana, Mother Teresa, and Steve Irwin.

I've always had a little bit of a fascination with Princess Diana. Partly because she and Prince Charles married the same year Don and I married. Partly because of her name and party because I admired the grace and compassion she exhibited during her short and amazing life.

I should have to explain why I would want to entertain Mother Teresa. Her life was beyond amazing. Her example of being a faithful and humble servant was such an inspiration. I'm sure a dinner wouldn't be enough time with her - maybe a whole weekend.

And I think it would be entertaining to sit and listen to Steve Irwin's stories. Can you imagine a dinner party with those three? Steve Irwin would definitely add the fun factor to the evening.

Thank you to Kailani for hosting Aloha Friday each week. You can find her over at An Island Life.

I agree w/ Princess Di. She died on my wedding anniversary & we had lived in England for three years just before that. So sad.

Let's see. I would also want Katherine Hepburn & Howard Hughes. Both of them were such amazing individuals.

I would have dinner with one of my best friends I grew up with that died in a car accident, my grandpa and grandma. They both passed in the last five years and I miss them dearly!

Joan of Arc ... I bet she had one heck of a story to tell.

James Joyce ... I love his writing.

Mine were

Marilyn Monroe

I had read in other posts where this has happened to people, but never thought it'd happen to me.. like walking in with the same dress as the hostess @ a party..

Without a doubt I would pick my Nana and Papa. They never met my husband or my boys. I would love for them to see my family. After that perhaps I would pick Anne Frank.

I would choose my grandpa, who I still miss terribly after five years! And also my mother's oldest and youngest siblings, who both died young and I never got to meet, but heard many stories about.

I have no idea who I would want to dine with. I would have to give it some thought. But I love Steve Irwin! You had three great choices!

What a fantastic list!! Great people :)
I'm not sure who I'd pick... probably C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein and my grandfather that I never got to meet. Lewis and Tolkein were friends in real life and I think it would be so interesting to pick their brains... especially Lewis. And I've heard so much about my grandpa... it would be so great to get to know him personally.

I would choose both of my grandmothers - they would be so proud of my family, some members they've never even met.

For my third, I would choose Ronald Reagan.

Hmm..thats an interesting question. Perhaps Moses..I would love to ask him how he stood in front of the burning bush and still didn't have the faith that God could use his voice. Then hmm perhaps Elvis that would be interesting. And my Grandmother.. I miss her as well.

I would pick my cousin Faye who was taken much too young, my dad who I didn't get to say goodbye to and Jesus. That would be perfection. The good news is that someday that could all come true.

Those are interesting people you mentioned. I'd probably invite my Grandpa, Uncle B, and Grandma. I wasn't able to spend quality time with them before they died.
