stories told

I've been working all day on a new sister blog; Stories Told. It's one that I will use to keep track of the books I read and the movies I see. I've been wanting to do this for a while. I finally got around to it.

One of my resolutions goals for 2008 is to read more books. I love reading, but haven't given it much of a priority for the last year. I found myself still buying books that I wanted to read, but not taking the time needed to read them. My bookcase was overflowing with unread books. So I cleaned it out; donated books that I figured I would never read and kept the ones I wanted to read. Now my bookcase has a new purpose - to hold the books that I'm planning on reading this year.

After I finish a book, I'll write a post about it. I'll try not to give any spoilers but write what the book is about and if I would recommend it.

I also thought it would be fun to keep track of the movies I watch. I see a lot of movies and by the end of the year, I can't remember what I've seen throughout the year. Not only will I be able to keep a catalog of them all, but how I felt about each one.

For the most part, this new blog is for me to personally catalog the books and movies. I'm opening it up to be public because, who knows, maybe someone would be interested. You can also find a link to it on my sidebar under 'I am currently reading...' I hope you take a minute or two to check it out.

Hi Diana, that is a great idea. I too have books I need to read, and new ones I want to get, but never have time, So yes I will start to read also. Thanks.

I am going to check it out, because I am a huge movie buff myself. I wish I had more time to read...I am still trying to get the last Harry Potter book read. I always find more "important" stuff to do other than read and so I wait until I'm ready to go to bed to read, and then I fall asleep!!

Diana. I like The idea of a sister blog for that.
I started to keep a list of books I was currently reading on my sidebar but it was a niusance. I need to figure out a convenient way for keeping track of what I read.
Answer to your question: I learned about using essential oils after a lifetime of accumulating knowledge of herbs and folk medicine. Reading, talking to the old people, field work, gathering and experimenting --it's been a long haul, and Worth it!

I don't get out to the movies much, but I am an avid reader, so I will be visiting your siste blog.

Diana what a great idea! I love to read and have been known to go through books very quickly.

Sadly though I find I have less time to read these days due to the time spent on an ever growing women's ministry. I still do read, but it's for ministry...I MISS reading for sheer PLEASURE!! I'll be checking out your list to see what I'm missing :-)

that's a cool idea. I'll have to go check it out. Books and movies have scarce for me in the last year with The Cuteness making his entrance and all. But it is a season and reading is like breathing for me, so I'm anxious to get back into it.
