i can see the wood

Aloha Friday is hosted by Kailani over at An Island Life.

My question this week...

What major (or not so major) project do you need to tackle?

I ask this question because I tackled the project of cleaning my room yesterday. I thought about taking before pictures but decided I didn't want to embarrass myself by showing exactly how messy it truly was.

Not only did I put clothes away that had been laundered over two weeks ago, but I cleaned off my desk that had been loaded down with all kinds of junk for over a year. That desk has ended up being the place where everything that doesn't have an immediate home gets dumped. [please tell me I'm not the only one that has such a place.] I can now see the wood.

After a day's worth of work, the room looked great. What made it look even better was new bedding that I purchased earlier in the week. New bedding was long overdue and it was the crowning glory of my newly cleaned room.

My next project... my closet. ugh!

Hey, Congrats on your room! I hate having to tackle something I've left for a while. That being said, I really need to paint my daughter's bedroom. She want's an all pink room & I'm trying to push for a compromise. I don't think I could handle pepto pink walls!

I have a few places like that in my home. One is in my kitchen by the phone... all the papers I "need" to keep seem to end up there. My desk is another place.
A project to tackle? I want to organize my hall closet. It's starting to overflow and I'm afraid that the next time I open it everything will come crashing down onto my head!

I need to attack my son's room. I always say I'm going to downsize on the toys, but never do.

I have to alter some curtains for my youngest dd livingroom. She asked me to do so ages ago and I'm hoping to get to them now.

My bedroom as well. It's a room I've been ignoring for a long time. When I do clean I'll be publishing before and after photos on my other blog, which I've done so with other parts of my home.

Oh my Diana, you are not alone in having a place where everything gets dumped - in fact, I think I have an area like that in each room!!! It feels so good to get that stuff done, doesn't it?

My next project? I need to wipe down the trim in all the rooms - little dirty handprints are everywhere - not sure how that happened! ;-D

Have a great weekend!!

Too many to count! I REALLY need to get some curtains for my kitchen though. I'm having a hard time finding exactly what I want so it's been a little bit of a challenge for me.

You are definitely not the only one with a place such as your desk!!!

You have a great bedroom. Please give us a picture of your room and new bedspread.

My project - sorting through stuff I have put out on our patio and taking it wherever it needs to go.

We moved to our home in August and I still have many projects to tackle - among them, hanging pictures, organizing the mud room, getting some window seat cushions made, and getting rid of extra clutter (which is guess is a never ending project).

I washed the walls in the hall yesterday. Now I have the rest of the house walls to wash. I hate doing the kitchen the most, all those cupboards! Closets are bad too.

Everybody like to put stuff on the kitchen table. It annoys me to no end. Where do I stash stuff? Under the bed. Where else? Hahaha! I can still remember mom telling me to clean my room. She would come in to check. She would head straight to the bed and take a peek under there. Then she would haul all of it out.I have progressed to using a plastic bin instead of just tossing loose stuff under there. Out of sight, out of mind.

Aside from generalized cleaning and things for Passover, we still have not finished the upstairs room. It is a giant glorified closet with boxes in it. It was going to be our playroom and we just need to do it for our boys. Major space that would be well used since it is all ready, just needs organization.

The paper in my house! It's horrid. I have taxes to file, bills to pay, it's just bad all around. I need a few days without all my kids and I could knock it out.

I've been wanting to convert one of our rooms in to a playroom for JS. The problem is I know all the toys will still end up in the living room, so why bother.
