It's Friday! It's Aloha Friday!
This week's question:
If you were to take a road trip, where would you go?
I ask because we might be taking a road trip next week. As of this writing, our original vacation plans have not worked out and we're considering going to plan, um... C, which is a road trip. But we're not sure where to go. Some of the places we're considering are Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, or Mesa Verde - all beautiful National Parks.
Our kids grew up loving road trips due to how many trips we made between here and California to visit family. They say they still enjoy road trips but I think it would be different now. They are older, thus bigger and neither one of our vehicles is very large, thus it wouldn't be as comfortable. So, plan C may be scrapped. We'll be figuring it all out today. Stay tuned.
Kailani, of An Island Life, hosts Aloha Friday each week.

I'd go to Key West! I've been wanting to go there for years!
I would go to Sioux Falls South Dakota. I love that place or I would try to visit Sioux Saint Marie in the UP. So many things i want to see but it is a drive from here.
I would go to Dallas so I could meet Mightymom!!
;-)
well, you asked!!!!!!!
actually I would love to, and may in coming years, take a series of extended road trips touring the country with my family and meeting all the wonderful friends I have made online. There would be at least 2 trips...one NNE and one NNW from here.
:-)
I think it would be fun to go to the grand canyon. I've never been there. Any place I can take vacation time is a good place. :)
driving north along the coast is awesome...I love to do that, and usually end up in Cambria.
I would go to Florida!
For me, it'd be NYC or the Jersey shore! :)
Have a great weekend!
Florida to see my parents.

We recently went on a road trip to Aberdeen, SD to visit Storybook Land. It was really fun!
I would take a road trip to New England. I have always wanted to go there and stop when I wanted, eat lunch on the coast and just enjoy the northern folks.
We just came home from a big road trip...from Nebraska to Kentucky. It was a blast and I'm ready to do it again!
HA! Stacie, that cracked me up, I live in Sioux Falls, SD. Diane, have you ever been to the black hills? Mt. Rushmore is great and there is so much else to do even for adults. If I could pack up and go anywhere right now I would go to Ely, MN. And I would take the scenic drive up the coast and through Duluth. I love it up there in the forest and wilderness! Where ever you end up going I hope you have a great trip!!
A road trip... all out west. Hitting the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Utah, Yellowstone, Colorado, the Dakotas. It would be a very long road trip.
I went on a road trip to Idaho last month...that was fun. If I were to go on one today, I would go to New Mexico, because it is the closest state that I haven't ever visited.
I'd opt to Mt. Rushmore. Sioux Falls has a lot of stuff for every age group and the weather is great at this time of year.
Go for the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore, Diana. Surely Jake and Dani can take a one-day road trip to get up there. Jamey has the right idea. And there is a lot to see and do in the Hills. Check out Spearfish and the Canyon while you’re up there. I know we can’t wait to get out on the road again come September.
I'd love to go to Mt. Rushmore. That sounds awesome.
Vegas...sounds great, a Mommy and Daddy trip.
Well, just got back from a quick day trip to Yellowstone and it was GORGEOUS! Busy though. We did get to see a bear! When there are 8000 cars pulled over to the side you know something is around! We are planning a day trip down to Mesa Verde in August, haven't been there in about 17 years. And we are going to Mt Rushmore! My first time! Yay!
Don't know if my ramblings helped, but thought I'd just stick in my 2 cents. LOL
Have a great one!
I would visit all the historical sites and then down to Orlando to visit my sister.
Colorado!
Places that are close would include Boston, Montreal, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Toronto.
We recently returned from a road trip to Maryland. We got to go to Gettysburg and to Wash. D.C. from a vacation house there. We also like to go to road trips to Lancaster County, PA, to stay with and among the Amish folks out there.
I've always dreamed of doing the great American road trip along Route 66. We live in eastern New Jersey so it's the perfect place to begin a 3000 mile adventure and see this beautiful country of ours.
We are going on a road trip up to the Twin Cities yet this summer.
Sometime we want to road trip to Connecticut (Al's brother lives there) and see all the sites out there.
We also want to go to Florida and California someday too.
We're doing a ton of traveling on our Tour de Colorado and have been hitting all my must-see destinations locally. I would love to rent a motorhome and go up through Glacier, Waterton National Park, Banff and Jasper!
