accomplishments

...
It's Friday and that means I get to play along with Kailani's Aloha Friday, where I pose a question in hopes that anyone reading will answer said question.

My question this week is...

What is something you want to accomplish in 2009?

This isn't quite the same 'ole "what's your new year's resolution?" question. I'm looking for something bigger, something more than just something you want to resolve to do or not do. But if you do resolutions and want to answer that way, feel free.

I want to accomplish a few things. But the two I'll list here are: reading my Bible every day and get back into scrapbooking.

My daughter, Dani, read her Bible every day in 2008. I'm very proud of her and she's very proud of herself. I think that's quite an accomplishment, so I'm going to try to do it this year.

I love to scrapbook. I love to create. I love the creative process of designing a page with photos, colors and graphics. And I have millions thousands hundreds of pictures that are sitting in boxes or on my computer (okay, maybe it is thousands!). It's time to get organized and start cranking out the photo albums.

So those are my two big things I want to accomplish this year. What is one (or more) of yours?

I want to begin entertaining more -inviting people for dinner.
Several years ago we use to have a different family in each Sunday after church. When we changed churches, and it is such a larger church, we stopped doing this. I want to restart that again.

I want to declutter my house and am beginning to work on that, but the real thrust will be this spring.

My husband and I read our Bible and pray together daily. We have done this for years. I highly recommend this if you possibly can. It has been a key in truly hiding Gods Word in our heart as we are instructed to do.

I want to start using my sewing machine again and create something beautiful! My husband is building cabinets and shelves in what will be our hobby area. I want to set up a spot where I can sew.

I like MightyMom's answer :)
I would really like to create an organizing system for all my paper work. Right now it just sits in random piles throughout my house and I can never really find what I need when I need it...

I have not thought about anything that I want to accomplish, except my goal of exercising more.

To pay off 1/2 of all my debt and incur NO more debt. The other half of my debt will be my goal for 2010.

As for resolutions...eat healthier and exercise more. And hopefully lose 10 pounds in the process :)

Ho man...I have such a mess of scrapbooking stuff to do as well plus I really don't enjoy it for some reason so I am not going to put that one down cause it is doomed to failure.Doomed!

I want to finish up the woodcarving projects that I started and the ones that I commented to.

I would like to read my bible as well. I have never actually completed this. I have read it through but it has been bits here and there. I have started to read it on my facebook application that they have for that. It is working.

Your goals are great! Reading the bible every day is WONDERFUL. I haven't done it in a while but I have before in my life and the times I have it has really blessed it.

One thing I'd like to accomplish for 2009 is to develop a ROUTINE for exercize. Something that I actually do.

My big one is taking more pictures, I feel I let my self down last year by not taking more. I bought a camera for that reason, and sent the old one to my daugter it was a great camera for taking family pictures. But not so good for what I wanted to do.

Hi Diana!
I want to get back to something that was a priority for years and I got away from it the past couple of yearts--writing and doing publications for children. I'm already getting that burning in my heart again!
Hope you get your "thousands" of pictures in scrapbooks in 2009!

This year is all about getting healthy and staying healthy. I'm making some changes in my diet, getting more exercise, and hoping that I'll lose some weight too!

I also need to sort out my photos at some stage.

My biggest accomplishment will be to lose that little bit of extra weight I want gone.

Your two accomplishments sounds good to me. I've always wanted to read the bible from cover to cover, but I felt really convicted while reading an excerpt of the "Daily Bread." Basically is said that we should read the bible with the intent to obey God's word, and not simply with the intent of reading it. Makes sense.

I also want to complete some scrapbooking projects - digitally. If you want to get started on that format a good place to start is digiscrap101.com. There are a lot of video tutorials and forums. I also subscribe to Scrappers Digest. Linda Sattgast has amazing video tutorials also. I'm just beginning the digital thing, but I'm addicted. Good luck with your accomplishments. Good luck to us both.

I want to accomplish getting my house organized! I've got boxes and boxes of things that I need to sort, put into bins and label. I don't have much storage, so this is quite a task!

I'm following your blog!
