the presents keep coming

Tonight we purchased a late Christmas present for me - no, the family - no, me. Okay... I'll share it with the family =)

It's a Wii system.

I told Don I wanted the Wii Fit when he asked me what I wanted for Christmas. But I said it half kidding because we didn't have the key piece of equipment - the Wii console. After we got back from California, Don shocked us all by saying that he wanted to buy a Wii. Of course, that was right after Christmas and every store was sold out. But a local W*lm*rt received a new shipment and we were able to pick one up.

But the Wii Fit is going to be harder to find. All the stores we contacted told us they had no idea when they'll get those in stock. I'll just have to wait.

In the mean time, the family and I will enjoy playing tennis, bowling, boxing, and guitar hero. And when the kids leave to go back to college, I'm going to have to make sure they haven't snuck the console into the cars. They both think they should be able to take it with them.

No chance!

One of our daughters and one of our sons have the WII and yes, they are both looking for the Fitness. Most of the family had a ball Christmas, after the gift opening, playing WII. Of course 9 year old grandson, Aric, beat them all every time!!!

My kids (and DH) have been having a ball with my sons's guitar hero. He brought it home with him for Christmas break. I hear that the Wii fit is awesome for working out. Late presents are the best!

we don't own any gaming systems, and have never been tempted to jump in, but the wii is so much fun! family fun. enjoy. believe me, you won't need wii fitness, if you box and play tennis daily!

Congratulations on your WII. We've had one here for quite a while and it is a lot of fun. I know, from experience, that if you play some of the games for too long, you'll wake up feeling it the next day.
I still haven't tried WII Fit, but I know it's good.
You probably didn't know this, but we've been sharing a 5-bedroom house with my daughter Nita and her family. So our moving will be a big job, but a very very welcome and exciting occasion! (If we can remember whose is what, we'll be fine)

The next time you see a Wii Fit GRAB IT! Those things fly off the shelves!! I found some at Costco one day and wanted to talk to Hubby about it that night and then go back the next day to get one if he was on board. They were gone the next day! They had 40+ sitting there the day before!
We love our Wii! Our current favorite is Mario Kart! And if you love any of the old school games, you can download them onto your Wii and enjoy a few rounds of Super Mario Brothers or Tetris! :)

Sounds like mom and dad found a great way to make sure the kids come home on the weekends! ;-)

We've never tried it, but it sure sounds like fun!!

I haven't tried one of those machines yet. My son has one and they have a lot of fun with it. I am really bad at games.

Thats awesome. We were just talking last night about getting a Wii. I doubt if it happens, but it would still be nice to have one. Ethan showed us a funny Youtube video where the guy was bowling, but didn't have the controller strapped to his wrist -- and he threw it into the TV set. I can see that happening at our house:)
