...
My Aloha Friday question for this week:
Are you totally ready for Christmas?
That means tree and house decorating, gift buying (and mailing), card writing and sending, cookie baking and giving, and whatever else you need to do to feel "ready."
If you're not ready, tell us what you still need to do.
for me....
NO! I am not ready in any area.
and yes, I know Christmas is less than two weeks away.

nope im not ready either!!!! Stil haveta buy presents wrap cook and decorate a bit more!!
Not @ all & as soon as I'm done here it's off to get ready so that I can finish w/ the presents that need to be mailed!
Bah hahaha - of all days to ask me this!
I mailed my cards today but I still need to put the ones for church friends in the church mailboxes and take some to neighbors. I'm finishing up my gifts and I always enjoy wrapping right before it's time to give the gifts - That way I remember which item goes to whom!! HAHA
No tree...yet! (be sure to stop over at my place, I lost something and need help finding it! LOL)
not at all.... have not started! Well, we hve a tree and thats about it. I just procrastinate.
( Its a gift..lol)
I am almost ready for Chanukah. I need to try to finish this up this weekend since it begins a week from Sunday.
All my gifts are bought and wrapped. I've been making Christmas Candy but have more to make, I'm making enough to take 10 gifts to a luncheon I've been invivted to by one of my friends at church. She doesn't know I'm doing it. It will be a surprise :o) I love surprises!!!!
We are celebrating my oldest daughters BD tonight with a family dinner party. I'll probably post about it tomorrow.
I love, love, love this time of year!!!
Susan
I still need to finish shopping, I need to start baking, I need to clean at least a little because I have family coming, and I need to mail my Christmas cards. That would mean....NO!!!...I am not even close to ready. Thanks for reminding me that it is only 2 weeks away :)
I hope you can get into the spirit of the season. My guess is that once your kids are in the house and you are getting ready to go to California you will feel much more festive :)
I'm not completely ready, but I am further along than you are! The tree, condo and patio are decorated, but I still have some gifts to buy. I am thoroughly enjoying this Christmas. We have two Christmas parties to go to, both should be lots of fun. And your coming out for Christmas is like "frosting on the cake!"
I always love to see your house all decorated for Christmas. You have so many cute things. You always have so much Christmas spirit, but I can see why this year is a little different.
Mom
The cards. I need to mail the cards.
Assuming I survive this weekend's graduation and party, all I have lef to do for Christmas is wrap gifts and plan the menu for Christmas Day (and, of course, shop for the food, but I can do that online...)
I am almost ready.
I still have some shopping to do and cards to mail out.
I love your quote of the day!
I still have to bake, finish wrapping and get some packages ready to mail. Also, firm up the menu for Christmas dinner and for a cookie exchange I'm having this week.
Oh. And clean the house:(
Nope. No way...
Not yet. I have a few presents left to buy!
Just tonight I told my husband I felt like I was in pretty good shape for the holidays and that I need to write a list to remind myself just how far behind I really am. :-)
well, depends on your definition of "ready", if you mean are all my pre Christmas tasks complete then no. The freezer has to be moved to make room for the tree, the tree has to go up. The cards are in process of getting stuffed and addressed and I need to get the gifts that I mail out ready to mail, then dump it all at the PO. Oh and we still have about 10 bags to decorate. :-)
BUT
To me, that's not really "being ready" for Christmas...that's just a to do list. I am ready for Christmas. I am anticipating all the joy and love of family get togethers. I have a family of about 25 folks that this is the one time a year I see them and I love it so! My cousin has a SNK the same age as Sonshine and we always spend the party yakking and commiserating. I am GREATLY anticipating next Tues when Subvet and I are abandoning the kids (who will be neglected and abused by Mimi) to go to dinner and a play with a group from church...we won't know a soul we're going with so we're looking forward to making come contacts there.`
Oh and I must be ready for the kids if nothing else. I mean, he's only been talking about Christmas since AUGUST!! Working our way through the Advent Calendar and watching them learn the scripture has really helped make me ready.
So, my answer is yes, and no.
Nice and definitive! :-)
I always write a book over here...I'm not sure why. sorry so loooooong!!
I got the house cleaned and everything unpacked. We have bought a few gifts but still have some shopping to do. My daughter put the tree up. That is all that is done. I am not going to worry about baking.
LOL....
I am not ready in terms of decorating, though gift buying is about done.
Still have some shopping and decorating to do. Also have to write out Christmas cards, wrap, bake, clean, and probably much more. I'll be ready for Christmas by New Year's with a little luck!
Um, no. Not ready in the least.
Still need to put up the tree. Been putting that off due to a certain 18 month old! haven't sent cards yet because I can't decide whether to send pictures with them or not. and i have about 3 more people to buy gifts for.
Ick. So much to do!
No, but I'm close! Decorations are up, tree is up, cards are sent, most of the gifts are bought and some are wrapped. A little bit more shopping to do and most of the wrapping.
No... not yet...
diana, is it the empty nest? God bless you, dear one. May God give you the motivation you need. For some odd and unknown reason, I'm excited about Christmas this year. I think it may have to do with the decision I made that everything would be made by hand. I don't know. But I do know what you feel like. Been there before.
